The name Sincerely Yours is inspired by the origins of the word "Sincere." It is a word that comes from the pottery profession of Bible times. Pottery often developed cracks while being fired. Crooked merchants would fill the cracks with wax and paint over them to hide the imperfections. As soon as something hot was put in the vessel the wax would melt and the crack would be revealed. To determine if a piece of pottery had been filled with wax the buyer would hold it up to the sunlight to examine

"sine cera"

if the piece had been cracked and filled, the sunlight would show it. Some pottery dealers would stamp their products with the phrase, “sine cera” meaning “without wax.” This was a pledge of quality and integrity.
As I hold my life up to that of Christ, I see all my imperfections and inadequacies. Jesus, the light of the world came for broken, sinful people like me.
As I awaken to the love and grace that he poured out on the cross, my response is one of surrender and gratitude. My life is one that should be characterized by a daily rhythm of worship. He is the potter and I am the clay. The cry of my heart and soul is "Jesus I am Sincerely Yours."  Mold me and make me as you will.
